So was is a template you may be asking?

Templates are a simple “fill in the blanks” form. That’s the easiest way to explain what they are.   You don’t have to worry about all the programming that goes into setting up the layout, colors, etc.  The provider or creator of the web template has done the basic web design for you.  All you have to do is add what ever content you wish your web visitors to see in the areas available for insertions of your information.

The principal limitation in using a pre-formated template is the actual design of the web template itself.  The template may not have all of the “bells and whistles” you wish to provide your web visitors.  This may or may not be a hinderance to you.  You have to be the judge of what you wish your template to accomplish:  easy to use (for you to add your content and for them to navigate about your website), well laid out, right color scheme, etc.   You may well find that getting started a “free” template is well suited to you needs.  Don’t forget, “you get what you pay for,” and in most cases this means little or no support on problems you may encounter.  You can always email the provider, but they don’t have a lot of time to deal with fixing free things.

If you wish more “bells and whistles,” you should be prepared to pay more.  This is especially true if you are using “free” templates.  Free templates may not provide you with what you really want or prefer.  As you progress in your web business you may find the need to have a website designed with specific layout functions.  You may want a specific look that is both pleasing to the eye,  and one that is functional to your web income needs.  If you get hung up on not want to put out some money from time to time to help you in your pursuit of making money on the internet, you have missed the point of creating your website to begin with.  Sometimes we have to rely on the help of others who have the knowledge and expertise to help us get what we need–they just ask to be compensated for sharing their talent and skill.

As you look to hire a web page template designer/provider, be sure you cleary understand what you are purchasing.  You want to know how much support they offer initially for the purchased template, and what the cost is for any additional work needed to get your template they way you want it.

We make no recommendations for here for template providers.  We suggest you look on the internet . . . and be willing to spend some time searching–there are a ton of them out there.
